The "5 Fingers" of the Dachstein

In recent years more and more destinations are investing in observation platforms on peaks or steep slopes of the Alps. These structures vary both in their architectural construction and in the view they offer.

One of the most spectacular views is the "5 Fingers of Dachstein" in the Salzkammergut region. This area is famous for its lakes, including Mondsee, Wolfgangsee, Attersee and Trauensee. Of course, from the observation platform you will have Lake Hallstatt, the village itself and the Dachstein glacier at your feet.

On the first "finger" you will find an empty board, to take a commemorative photo with your loved ones.

The gap to the ground is 400m.

How to get there:

From the village of Obertraun (5km from Hallstatt), you will take the lift to the second station. From there you will walk a 20 minute trail to the observation platform. The route is also ideal for children.
